Army trains 925 Borno forest guards for counter-terrorism operations

The Nigerian Army has trained 925 wood guards from Borno State successful basal subject skills to enactment troops warring coercion and insurgency wrong the state.

The unit underwent a two-week theatre acclimatisation programme astatine the North-East Theatre Training School, Buni Yadi, Yobe State.

The Theatre Commander, Operation Hadin Kai, Major General Ibikunle Ajose, disclosed this on Sunday at the graduation ceremonial of the trainees.

Ajose said the grooming was designed to hole the wood guards to run alongside subject personnel, stressing that it was not intended to crook them into afloat soldiers.

He said the trainees were trained successful limb stripping and assembly, aiming and firing, ambush tactics and cordon-and-search operations.

The grooming besides covered Improvised Explosive Device awareness, handling of suspected terrorists, unarmed combat, self-defence and operations successful hard terrain and adverse upwind conditions.
