El-Rufai’s wiretapping case adjourned till October 26

An Abuja Federal High Court, presided by Justice Joyce Abdulmalik, has adjourned until October 26, 2026, to regularisation connected a no-case submission filed by erstwhile Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai, successful the alleged phone-tapping lawsuit brought against him by the Department of State Services, DSS.

Justice Abdulmalik reserved the judgement aft proceeding arguments from the defence and the DSS connected the application.

Counsel to El-Rufai, Paul Erokoro, SAN, portion adopting the no-case submission, prayed the tribunal to clasp that the prosecution had failed to found a prima facie lawsuit requiring his lawsuit to participate a defence.

Responding, counsel to the DSS, Oluwole Aladedoye, SAN, adopted the concealed police’s antagonistic to the exertion and urged the tribunal to disregard the no-case submission and bid El-Rufai to participate his defence.

According to Aladedoye, the defence had failed to adequately code Exhibit B, which the prosecution said contained an alleged admittance by El-Rufai concerning the interception of Ribadu’s telephone communications.

After proceeding some sides, Justice Abdulmalik adjourned the lawsuit until October 26 for ruling.
