Breaking: Charges against Man Utd’s forward and Greenwood are dropped by the UK police
The authorities in the United Kingdom have dismissed all charges against Mason Greenwood, a football player for Manchester United.
Allegations of attempted rape, coercive behavior, and assault were made against the forward, age 21.
The trial was scheduled to take place on November 27, 2023, per SkyNews.
Criminal cases had been dropped by the Crown Prosecution Service, according to Greater Manchester Police.
Given the extensive media attention of this case, according to TGMP’s Head of Public Protection, Michaela Kerr, “it was ‘only reasonable’ that the force publicized the latest development.”
“The investigation team has maintained frequent contact with the legal team, providing any changes of note, and as a result, understands the justification for the suspension of the proceedings at this point. This decision has not, however, been made lightly,” she continued.
Despite the interest in this matter from the media and the general public, she insisted, “We have decided not to comment on it in any further detail.”
