One Tajudeen Olanrewaju Bakare has been listed as sought by the Lagos State Police Command for endangering public tranquility and carrying a concealed weapon.
In a social media video that went viral earlier this week, Bakare, also known as Oba Ogboni Abalaiye Ajamajebi, was shown threatening residents of the Surulere neighborhood in the state while brandishing a pump action rifle.
In a statement posted to his verified Twitter account, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, the state police’s public relations officer, stated that “the CSP Egbeyemi-led Rapid Response Squad, working on actionable intelligence, carried out a sting operation on the man’s residence in the state’s Surulere area.
Three pump action rifles, one Beretta handgun magazine, one spent 9mm round, one spent and three live rounds, and a photo frame of the suspect were all discovered in the suspect’s home.
The command thanked Lagosians for their alertness and timely reporting of suspicious activity to security services, but warned that anyone found wanting would face legal repercussions if they entered the state.
