Willian is regretting leaving Chelsea.
Willian Borges, a former Brazilian international, criticized his choice to leave Chelsea for London rivals Arsenal.
He left Tottenham for the Gunners in 2020 for €22 million, but his time there wasn’t great.
Thereafter, Willian returned to his own country, where he signed with the Corinthians in 2021.
In 2022, he also made a comeback to England as a Fulham player, making 19 games in the English top flight while recording three goals and three assists.
Yet he admitted to SkySports that quitting Stamford Bridge had been a mistake: “Yes. I wish I had stayed. Of course, it’s simple to say today, but when I pause and think about all the situations…I say to myself ‘I wish I never left’. Life,” he remarked.
“This is life,” I say, “and I’m loving it here at Fulham right now.”
The twice-champion of the Premier League also discussed what happened while he was at Arsenal.
“I’m not sure. It was in the midst of… undergoing significant change. When I signed with them, I was thrilled,” he continued. He concluded, “I was working out hard, but it just didn’t work.
