Diya and Imo LP Governorship Candidate Anumudu are mourned by Peter Obi.
The Labour Party’s nominee for president in the February 25 election, Mr. Peter Obi, has expressed his sorrow on the passing of Humphrey Anumudu and former chief of staff of Nigeria, Lt. General Oladipo Oyeyinka Diya (Rtd).
The late Gen. Diya’s contribution to the people and the country in a variety of positions, according to Obi, would always be remembered in a message on his verified Twitter account on Sunday.
He prayed to God to give his family the strength to endure this enormous loss and to grant him a peaceful afterlife.
The former governor of Anambra State lamented the passing of Anumudu, a Labour Party candidate for governor of Imo State, in a related post on Sunday.
Today, I visited the family of Mr. Humphrey Anumudu, a longtime friend and political colleague, to express my condolences after learning of his untimely passing. One of the Labour Party’s staunchest supporters in Imo state is Mr. Anumudu.
Anumudu, according to Obi, was one of the Labour Party’s most ardent supporters in the Imo state, and he was also a very affable and straightforward individual.
He prayed that God, who had called him home at this time, would allow his family the strength to endure his irreplaceable loss and give him permanent rest in His kingdom.
Sani Abacha, a former military dictator, appointed Diya as his chief of staff. On Sunday morning, Prince Oyesinmilola Diya, his son, released a statement to confirm his passing.
On the other side, after leaving a meeting at the LP secretariat in Abuja, Anumudu was discovered dead in his house in Lagos.
