A 20-year-old pregnant woman was discovered dead by the side of the road in a shocking murder that has shocked Anadariya Village in the Bebeji Local Government Area (LGA) of Kano State.
“On receipt of the report, the Commissioner of Police, Kano State Command, CP Mamman Dauda psc(+) raised and instructed a team of detectives led by SP Tanimu Wada, Divisional Police Officer (DPO), Bebeji Division to proceed to the scene,” the statement read.

The police spokesman identified the victim as Theresa Yakubu, saying the suspects are her boyfriend and his friend.
The boyfriend reportedly confessed to the crime, saying he had impregnated the victim and conspired with his friend to kill her after attempts to abort the pregnancy failed.
Police announced on Tuesday that the woman’s bones had been found on March 28.
Two suspects have been detained in association with the murder, according to a statement from Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, the state’s police public relations officer.
He claimed that the arrest came as a result of a complaint made by locals, which compelled the state’s police chief, Mamman Dauda, to send detectives to the crime site.
The police commissioner expressed his condolences to the family of the dead and assured the state’s citizens that the police would do everything in their power to see that justice was done.
He also encouraged people to come forward with information that could help the police identify and apprehend additional suspects.
The CP also mandated that the case be transferred to the Homicide Section of the State Criminal probe Department (SCID) for a covert probe.
He gave the people reassurance that following the conclusion of the investigation, the suspects would be charged in court.
