INEC personnel and electoral materials arrive in Ebonyi LGA’s Abakpa ward.
INEC officials and electoral materials arrived at the Abakpa Ward 1, 004 polling unit in the state’s Ebonyi Local Government Area as early as 7:30 a.m. for the Presidential and National Assembly elections.
Nigerians will vote on Saturday to choose a successor to President Muhammadu Buhari, with many hoping that the next leader can take the country in a new direction following years of rising violence and suffering.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) Correspondent monitoring the polls in Abakpa Ward 1 reports that people were flocking to the polling units to execute their civic duty in various sections of the ward, which has 19 polling units.
Mr Ahmed Mohammed, Assistant Booth Manager at polling unit 004, confirmed that supplies had arrived at Urban Secondary Schools for distribution to polling units.
001 INEC personnel were spotted organizing voting materials at polling unit 005, prior to the start of voter accreditation.
NAN also noticed security troops stationed in numerous critical areas, despite the restrictions on motor movement. (NAN)
