As part of their ongoing investigation into alleged human trafficking, Romanian authorities seize $4 million in Andrew Tate’s assets.

On Sunday, January 15, Romanian authorities announced the seizure of goods and money totaling 18 million lei ($3.95 million) as part of a criminal investigation into alleged human trafficking that resulted in the arrest of controversial internet personality Andrew Tate.

Andrew Tate, his brother, and two Romanian female suspects were arrested on December 29 on suspicion of forming a criminal gang to sexually exploit six women. They have both denied any wrongdoing.

The detainees challenged their 30-day arrest warrant, but the Bucharest court of appeals rejected it this week, ruling that they should remain in police custody.

The National Agency for the Management of Seized Assets took into administration 29 movable assets, including luxury vehicles and watches, as well as various amounts of cash in various currencies, it said late Saturday in a statement.

According to Romanian media, several cars, including a Rolls-Royce, BMW, and Mercedes-Benz, were taken from Tate’s compound on the outskirts of Bucharest and transported to a storage facility.

Andrew Tate, a former Big Brother contestant, rose to prominence for his misogynistic remarks and hate speech.

Tate, who is both American and British, has stated that women are partially to blame for rapes and that they belong to men.

His comments caused him to be banned from all major social media platforms, though his Twitter account reactivated in November after Elon Musk purchased the platform.
