PDP petitions in Ogun INEC wants the government election to be ruled invalid.
The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) chapter in Ogun State has urged the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to declare the state governorship election results inconclusive.
This was stated in a letter submitted to Mahmood Yakubu, the national chairman of the commission, and signed by Sunday Solarin, the party’s secretary in the state.
The party claimed that intentional and planned violence was used against qualified voters in order to deny them the right to vote. This, he claimed, is a reflection of the state’s numerous vote cancellations.
The party is now arguing for the invocation of the principle of margin of lead as defined by the Commission in section 24(3) is in force, affected by the inability of the population greater than the reflected lead between the assumed winner of the election and the runner-up.
