Actor Jonathan Majors was detained on suspicion of assault.
According to police, rising Hollywood actor Jonathan Majors was detained in New York following assault charges.
A 33-year-old man and a 30-year-old woman were involved in a domestic quarrel, according to preliminary findings of the police investigation after they responded to an emergency call in Manhattan late on Saturday night.
In a statement to AFP, police stated that “the victim informed police she was assaulted.”
Unknown to the actor’s relationship, the woman was transported to the hospital in “stable condition” with minor head and neck injuries.
The actor “has done nothing wrong,” according to Majors’ agent Carrie Gordon, according to a statement published by the Los Angeles Times.
“We anticipate clearing his name and putting this right.”
A inquiry from AFP for confirmation as to whether the actor is still detained was not answered by judicial officials.
Recent appearances by Majors include “Creed III,” “Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania” from Marvel, and “Magazine Dreams,” which premiered at the Sundance Film Festival.
