Vinicius Junior, a Real Madrid winger, claims that racists now control La Liga.
At the Mestalla on Sunday, when Los Blancos lost to Valancia, Vinicius was the target of slurs from a supporter.
After Vinicius located the supporter in the throng behind the Valencia goal, the game was paused for about ten minutes.
Spanish football’s anti-racism procedure was invoked by referee Ricardo De Burgos Bengoetxea, who informed spectators that any more racist remarks would result in the game being suspended.
Vinicius initially declared he didn’t want to keep playing, but after speaking with coach Carlo Ancelotti, he changed his mind.
Vinicius, however, received a red card for what seemed to be a hit on Hugo Duro.
Following the game, the player said on his Instagram story: “It wasn’t the first time, nor the second time, and not the third. In La Liga, racism is commonplace.
“The opposition supports it and the competition views it as normal. The Federation also does so. I apologize again.
“The racists now own the championship that formerly belonged to Ronaldinho, Ronaldo, Cristiano, and Messi.
