Barcelona and Ilkay Gundogan come to an agreement

Ilkay Gundogan will join Barcelona on a two-year contract after leaving Manchester City.

Gundogan is departing Manchester City as a free agent, claims Spanish news source Mundo Deportivo.

The club’s top brass tried to persuade the German to stay, but he decided to continue playing in Spain instead.

Gundogan spent seven illustrious years with Manchester City.

The 32-year-old joined the Premier League powerhouses at the same time as Pep Guardiola, and the former Barcelona manager has trusted him with the captaincy this past season because he saw fit.

With 304 appearances for Manchester City, the German international has contributed 40 assists and 60 goals.

As soon as Sergio Busquets decided to leave Spotify Camp Nou, Gundogan’s name was high on Barcelona’s list of potential replacements.
