NYSC Explains June Allowance Delay and Requests Calm from Corps Members
The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) Management claims to be aware of the concerns of corps members regarding the delay in the payment of their monthly allowance for June 2023.
The Scheme blamed “administration of funds by various banks” for the delay in the payment of the June allowance.
Eddy Megwa, the NYSC’s Director of Press and Public Relations, stated in a statement on Sunday that the Scheme has finalized plans to pay corps members their June allowance on June 27, 2023.
For the avoidance of misunderstanding, the announcement said that “remittances made on the same day to various banks accordingly” meant that “the Scheme completed all arrangements for the payment of Corps Members’ allowance beginning June 27, 2023.”
“The current delay is a result of the handling of payments by various banks, who have not yet credited the accounts of Corps Members.
In light of the aforementioned, NYSC Management is diligently contacting the banks to hasten the payment of Corps Members’ June allowance.
The NYSC spokesperson advised corps members to maintain peace and obey the law while performing their national service because the Scheme will continue to give concerns about their welfare first priority.
