Abdulsalami Abubakar encourages peace following the election

General Abdulsalami Abubakar, a former head of state and chairman of the national peace committee, has urged Nigerians to continue acting peacefully after the elections.

After exercising his constitutional right at the Hilltop polling place in Minna, Niger State, Abdulsalami filed the appeal.

He praised the exercise’s largely peaceful execution across the state and nation.

“I have been able to carry out my civic duty, and I’m glad that there was peace in the nation during the elections.

“From what I have seen here, it is very comfortable, the moment they see you, the BVAS captures you and gives you your ballot papers for you to cast your vote.

“From everything that has been happening, things are proceeding smoothly and calmly. We give God praise for the state of affairs in Nigeria and Niger State, the man stated.
