Joao Felix would be available on loan from Atletico Madrid to Chelsea. The English Premier League team is prepared to meet the terms set last month by Atletico chief executive Miguel Angel Gil Marin for a short-term deal by paying around €11 million (£9. 7 million) for Felix’s registration and covering the Portugal international’s salary through the end of the current season.
According to Record Sport, Chelsea is also attempting to incorporate a buyout option for the uncommitted forward in the loan contract. Felix is eager to join the London club and has already informed his teammates that he is transferring to England since his relationship with Atleti coach Diego Simeone has soured to the point that he believes an exit is necessary for his future.

Atletico is delaying formalizing Felix’s loan to Chelsea while they look into other options. As the Premier League approaches its midpoint, both Arsenal and Manchester United are looking to add striking reinforcements, but neither club has agreed to the parameters the Spanish team is seeking in terms of money.

In the current transfer window, Chelsea and Arsenal are vying for the services of Ukrainian attacker Mykhaylo Mudryk. The 21-year-old has a valuation assigned to him of “greater than €100m,” and Shakhtar Donetsk is aware that Chelsea’s ownership group, led by Todd Boehly, is prepared to outbid them on both a transfer fee and salary.
Chelsea has dropped to 10th place in the division despite spending a Premier League-record amount on transfer fees in the summer transfer window and extensively investing on signing coach Graham Potter and numerous assistants from Brighton and Hove Albion. They were ousted from a second domestic cup tournament by Manchester City on Sunday following a 4-0 FA Cup loss, leaving them 10 points out of a Champions League qualifying spot.

In the summer of 2019, Felix joined Atletico for a club-record €126 million transfer price. The 23-year-old has struggled with Simeone’s man management and cautious tactical style at the Estadio Metropolitano for well over a year. Gil Marin made a public admission of the issue last month.

“Although I would want for him to continue, it is realistic to assume that he is leaving, stated Gil Marin. But the player didn’t come up with that. He represents the club’s largest wager to yet. Although I believe he is at the best level in the world, given his relationship with the coach, the number of minutes he plays, and his motivation, it would be logical for him to consider leaving if a better offer were to come along “.
