Breaking: INEC names Abiodun of the APC the victor in the Ogun governorship election.

In the just-completed governorship election in Ogun State, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) proclaimed incumbent Governor Dapo Abiodun the victor.

Ladi Adebutu, a candidate for the Peoples Democratic Party, who was Abiodun’s closest opponent in the race for a second and final term, lost (PDP).

Abiodun received 276 298 votes, compared to 262 383 for Adebutu. Biyi Otegbeye of the Africa Democratic Party, who received a total of 94,754 votes, finished in second place behind the couple.
