BREAKING: Tribunal takes major decision on Action Alliance’s case against Gov Okpebholo

The Edo State Governorship Election Petition Tribunal successful Abuja connected Wednesday dismissed the petition filed by the Action Alliance (AA) seeking to nullify Governor Monday Okpebholo’s election.

A three-member sheet led by Justice Wilfred Kpochi ruled that the petition, filed alongside AA’s National Chairman, Adekunle Rufai Omoaje, lacked merit.

The tribunal stated that the lawsuit revolved astir pre-election matters, which were beyond its jurisdiction.

The petitioners had alleged that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) unlawfully excluded their rightful campaigner from the September 21, 2024, governorship election.

They besides claimed that INEC disregarded tribunal rulings by recognising a campaigner who was not validly nominated by the party.
