Donald Trump Unexpectedly Visits a “Spin Room” Following US Presidential Debate
Shortly following his Tuesday US presidential debate embarrassment at the hands of Kamala Harris, Donald Trump made an appearance before media to claim the last word.
Shouts of surprise erupted at the press room door as the debate came to an end.
In the “spin room,” where the candidates’ aides and spokesmen typically rush to hand out talking points to reporters, Trump had made an unexpected appearance.
Dozens of reporters huddled behind thin bands to get as close as possible to the former president, cameras and microphones in hand.
A reporter broke out of the throng and asked, “What about black voters?” “I cherish them. The millionaire Republican said, “They love me.”
Other people wanted to know what he thought about the ninety-minute debate, in which Democratic candidate Harris, fifty-nine, had attacked nonstop.
“I haven’t seen it in years.”
Trump declared, “I thought it was a great debate.”
He then on, “I don’t even think of it as a performance; I thought it was my best performance, actually.”
“Our nation is deteriorating. Our country is deteriorating. And I believed that she wouldn’t be able to justify it once we revealed that.
Following reporters around the room, Trump answered a few questions before vanishing behind black drapes.
Director of Debates at the University of Michigan Aaron Kall remarked, “We haven’t seen that in years. He showed up in the media filing center and spin room at the end.”
“He wants to try to shift the conversation as soon as possible to something else.”
With fewer than two months until the election, Trump and Harris will both return to the campaign trail on Wednesday.
They will participate in several memorial services for the September 11, 2001 victims.
