Seyi Makinde, the newly re-elected governor of Oyo State, has pledged his win in the recently held governorship election to God and the state’s excellent citizens.

Makinde, who spoke to reporters shortly after the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) pronounced him the election’s victor on Sunday, expressed his gratitude to the state’s residents for their outpouring of support.

While celebrating the victory at his home in the Ikolaba neighborhood of Ibadan, the governor was accompanied by family members, friends, and colleagues, who were also joined by his wife, Tamunominimin.

He expressed his gratitude to the state’s citizens for their trust in his leadership and competence to run the country.

He asserts that the upcoming administration, dubbed Omituntun 2.0, is a movie that will be significantly better, sweeter, and more effective than Omituntun 1.0.

“Right now, I’m just overwhelmed,” he admitted. I want to express my gratitude to the fine people of Oyo State for their faith in this administration and my capacity to lead them.

I also want to express my gratitude to everyone of my friends and coworkers across the nation that took some action to help us support this government.

“In my opinion, putting in effort is rewarded with more effort. We will thus exert greater effort on behalf of the people of Oyo State during this second term than we did during the first.

“Like I said on the campaign road, Omituntun 2.0 is a movie that will be a lot better, sweeter, and more powerful than Omiuntun 1.0,” the speaker remarked.

Thus, I would like to express my gratitude to my leaders, elders, and supporters who have worked really hard. The good people of Oyo State and God are the beneficiaries of this triumph, he remarked.
