Emefiele allegedly plotting against Tinubu is denied by CBN.
Ex-envoy predicts that the new president will transform Nigeria.
Claims that the governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Godwin Emefiele, was plotting to unseat Bola Tinubu as president-elect have been refuted. Emefiele reportedly decided to work against Tinubu after failing to secure the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential nomination. Emefiele reportedly raised N500 million to support Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour of the Labour Party (LP) in his bid for governor of Lagos State.
According to the report, Emefiele contributed the funds given to Rhodes-Vivour to help another party free Lagos from Tinubu’s control. Isa Abdulmumin, a spokesperson for CBN, described the accusation as malicious and false, noting that Emefiele had never spoken to or met Rhodes-Vivour in person or by proxy.
Abdulmumin noted that the CBN governor does not participate in politics and urged anyone with information to the contrary to disprove the governor to provide facts. The CBN governor and his team should be given the freedom to concentrate on their given tasks, he continued.
Ahead of Bola Tinubu’s election as president-elect, Olusola Iji, a former Nigerian ambassador to the Republic of Togo, predicted that the nation would achieve the desired greatness under his leadership.
Iji, who serves as the South West Coordinator for the Asiwaju Tinubu/Shettima Coalition for Good Governance (ATSCGG), stated that Nigeria will experience the same growth in Lagos that Tinubu experienced while serving as governor.
The victory has further rekindled Nigerians’ hope in the nation, according to Chief Wole Iroaye, who spoke for the ex-envoy in a statement.
“Tinubu’s victory in the election means so much for the much-anticipated rapid socioeconomic transformation of Nigeria, which is incredibly endowed with human, material, and natural resources, more so than other countries in Africa and even outside the continent, said Iji.

With the numerous leadership positions he has held in the public and private sectors both inside and outside of Nigeria, Tinubu “seems to have been preparing over the years for the highly taxing office of President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.” He praised Tinubu for being an exceptional leader of men and for his stellar professional track record.
Iji asserts that Tinubu is well-positioned to mobilize the talents and potential that abound in the nation into a productive economy that will soon serve as a model for other African nations and even compete with the developed economies of Europe and America.
