Hilda Effiong-Bassey, also known as Hilda Baci, broke the record for the most money spent on a lunch date with friends at the Cook-a-thon.

In a video clip shared by Instablog9ja, a friend of Baci’s was overheard claiming that they went to a restaurant for lunch on Sunday after attending church.

After placing their items, the total came to N1.1m, she said, adding that Baci had paid it.

“Hello there, gentlemen. Today, in order to give thanks to God for a successful Cook-a-thon, we went to church. After the service, we made the decision to stop by for brunch. We ordered the world, but when the bill arrived, it was N1.1m, we were confused. The world record breaker paid the bill, so there was no need to worry. Baci’s friend said.

In the video footage, Baci could be seen dining out with her buddies. The video clip included a presentation of the receipt as well.

According to The Dailyupdates, Baci set out to beat the Indian record holder, who cooked continuously for 87 hours and 45 minutes in 2019, by completing a 96-hour aim. The marathon cooking was webcast on Instagram and YouTube.

Baci, after achieving the 96-hour goal, went on to achieve a new world record for non-stop cooking for 100 hours. This was accomplished thanks to her sheer willpower and the raucous audience of people, including celebrities, who were cheering her on while she worked on the cooking.

President Major-General Muhammadu Buhari (retd), Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, President-elect Bola Tinubu, presidential candidates Atiku Abubakar and Peter Obi of the Peoples Democratic Party and Labour Party, respectively, and the governors of Lagos and Akwa-Ibom states, Sanwo-Olu and Udom Emmanuel, among others, have congratulated the chef on his new accomplishment.
