According to reports, the students were abducted on Tuesday when armed men broke into their lodge in the Keffi Local Government Area’s Angwan Kare village.

In a phone call with Channels Television on Tuesday, DSP Ramhan Nansel, the police’s public relations officer, confirmed the kidnapping.

He claimed that early on Tuesday, the State Police Command received a distress call reporting a shooting at a home in Angwan Kare.

“The command is aware of the kidnapping at about 12:55 am as a distress was received that a house located at Angwan Kaare, Keffi, was invaded by unidentified armed men,” Nansel added.

After searching the area, attempts to track down the perpetrators proved fruitless, but a manhunt has been started to find the students, the police official said.

“The police and the military worked together to respond as necessary and searched the area, but in vain.
