Karim Adeyemi, the star attacker for Borussia Dortmund, has admitted that African food, particularly fufu, is the key to his rapid rise to fame.

At Signal Iduna Park, the German striker with Nigerian ancestry scored the lone goal for Dortmund against Chelsea in the round of 16 first-leg match.

The speedster, Adeyemi, stated in a post-game interview with CBSSportGolazo that he consumes a specific Nigerian dish that increases his speed.

“I consume a lot of African cuisine”, he said.

“I have good genetics thanks to my dad, so I anticipate difficulty.”

When questioned about the specific food he consumes, Adeyemi said, “It is called fufu and it’s a Nigerian food which is extremely excellent.”

He laughed and replied, “I don’t know,” when asked directly if he was the fastest player in Germany.

But even when I’m strong at something, other players are better at other things.

The brilliant solo goal was scored by 21-year-old Adeyemi, who took up the ball in his own half, raced practically the entire field, outpacing Enzo Fernandez along the way, and then rounded the goalkeeper to score into an empty net.
