Gang King & Boss Bride Days Manga Series is Licensed by Kodansha USA

The manga titles Gang King and Boss Bride Days have been licensed by Kodansha USA for digital release in January 2023. The stories with criminal and yakuza themes will be accessible on a number of digital platforms, including Bookwalker, Kindle, Apple Books, Google Play, Nook, Kobo, and many others.

On January 10, 2023, the long-running delinquent-themed manga title Gang King will receive its first English digital publication. From August 11, 2003, to April 27, 2021, it was serialized in Kodansha’s bi-weekly seinen magazine Evening. There have been 37 tankoubon volumes published in total.

According to Kodansha USA, the synopsis is:

Tattoos are the mark of a hero! Tattoos are life! Ever since being saved by a man with a back tattoo as a child, Jimmy has dedicated his life (and skin) to the ancient art of tattooing. Given his school full of delinquents, it’s no surprise that Tattoo Jimmy has become infamous for his skill at inking and brawling alike. So infamous that the biggest, baddest dudes around want to test their mettle against him…but Jimmy doesn’t take shit from anyone. He’s just got to stay in one piece long enough to meet his hero…even if it means bashing a few skulls along the way!.

Narumi Hasegaki, the author of A Springtime with Ninjas, is the creator of the high-stakes romcom manga series Boss Bride Days. On January 31, 2023, a digital release will be made for the first time. On April 1, 2018, it debuted as a serial on the Palcy manga app by Kodansha and pixiv. The fifteenth and final tankoubon volume, which was published on October 13, 2022, marked the series’ most recent conclusion.

Sakura Kisaragi, a self-described otaku and recluse, would rather stay home by herself and play her favorite dating sim with a yakuza theme. She accidentally earns a spot in the yakuza’s succession plans when she intervenes to save the life of an elderly man who turns out to be the head of the Amou-gumi crime family; inspired by her bravery, the man declares that whoever among his three ambitious grandsons can win her hand in marriage will be the next boss. Currently, hotheaded Reo, cool and calculating Ryusei, and kind but unwell Shusuke are all vying for her to become their boss wife. But can she be anything more to them than a means to an end?
