Governor Aiyedatiwa: We’re waiting for Akeredolu’s family to brief us on his funeral.

According to Lucky Aiyedatiwa, the governor of Ondo State, the funeral for the late Rotimi Akeredolu will be a celebration of life rather than a somber event.

Additionally, Aiyedatiwa stated that Akeredolu would get a state funeral, noting that his family is awaiting additional information regarding the funeral procedures.

The governor made these remarks during a visit to Akure from Prof. Kayode Ijadunola, the newly appointed vice chancellor of Elizade University, Ilara-Mokin.

Given the contributions the former governor had made to all areas of human endeavor, he was said to have made a significant contribution to society.

His words: “There will be a celebration of the life of a patriot who was true to life and mankind at Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredelu’s burial, rather than a somber affair.”

The governor announced that Akeredolu would receive a dignified state funeral, adding that the family is awaiting additional information.

Elizade University is a great institution, according to Aiyedatiwa, who also mentioned how highly the state government regards the university’s founder, Chief Michael Ade Ojo.

Previously, Ijadunola demanded that the institution and the Ondo State government work closely together.

Williams Olufunmi, the head of public relations at the institution, made a statement that included this information.

He said that the institution employs 500 Ondo natives in addition to people from all over the world, and that they make a significant contribution to the socioeconomic development of the state.

The Vice-Chancellor said he was in the governor’s office to let him know he had taken over as Elizade University’s fourth Vice-Chancellor and to express his condolences on his predecessor’s passing.

Ijadunola also paid visits to Oba Aladetoyinbo Aladelusi, the Deji of Akure, and Oba Abiodun Aderemi Adefehinti, the Alara of Ilara-Mokin.
