Haaland, Ronaldo, and Messi are selected for the 2023 FIFA FIFPro team.

The 2023 FIFPro team shortlist, which was made public on Wednesday, will be revealed on Monday, January 15, at The Best FIFA Football Awards in London, England.

With over 28,000 professional football players casting their votes, the FIFA FIFPro is the only worldwide football award chosen solely by players.

Argentina’s 2022 World Cup winner Lionel Messi joins Al Nassr forward Cristiano Ronaldo, 38, who now leads the Saudi Pro League in goals scored with 20.

Erling Haaland, the winner of the Manchester City treble, Jude Bellingham of Real Madrid, and captain Kylian Mbappe of Paris Saint-Germain are all included on the list.

Harry Kane of Bayern Munich and Karim Benzema, the former striker for Real Madrid, are also included on the list.

According to FIFPro, the players that have garnered the most votes for the World 11 will be the goalkeeper, three defenders, three midfielders, and three strikers.

The outfield player who is still playing and has the next-highest amount of votes will be given the final slot in the World 11.

The male players had to have participated in at least 23 games over the period of December 19, 2022, to August 20, 2023, inclusive, in order to be nominated for their performances.

Aitana Bonmati and Jenni Hermoso, the World Cup winners, were nominated in the women’s division. Sam Kerr and Lauren James, the women’s combination for Chelsea, are also on the list.

Dailyupdates reports that in August 2023, FIFPro confirmed that it received complaints from the Super Falcons over their outstanding bonuses and allowances with the Nigeria Football Federation, which dates back to 2021,

This followed after the Falcons’ elimination from the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup in Australia and New Zealand.
