Mr. Peter Obi, the candidate for the Labour Party (LP) in the presidential election on February 25, has declared that he will not incite violence to retake the votes that he “rightly” earned, but he also won’t create peace on an unjust basis.

This was said by the LP presidential candidate on Thursday in response to a query on what he would do if the APC offered to make peace for the benefit of the nation.

Bola Ahmed Tinubu of the APC was named president-elect by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on Wednesday. Several criticized the voting process, including Mr. Peter Obi, who believed Labour had won the popular vote.

In response to the question of maintaining peace for the benefit of the country, Mr. Obi stated that he has never called for violence since the results were announced. He added that, however, if maintaining peace means letting things stand without legally challenging the process, he will not toe that line.

It has nothing to do with what I am challenging; I am challenging the process. I have made multiple phone calls asking people to be calm and peaceful, Obi clarified.

The former governor of Anambra State continued, “If a process is flawed, it is flawed; in fact, you can’t create peace on a flawed foundation, it cannot happen anyplace in the world.

He added that the basis of the process that led to Tinubu’s election would face challenges and that it must be sound for peace to prevail.

Mr. Obi begged Nigerians to help this cause, pointing out that it is important for the common Nigerian and the country’s future.
