I’ve presented and acted, but what God wants me to do is cook, says Hilda Baci
Hilda Baci, a 27-year-old cook who attempted a Guinness World Record while hypnotizing Nigeria for days, has said that her vocation was divinely ordained.
Last Monday, Baci beat the record for the longest cooking marathon (individual), which was previously held by Indian chef Lata Tondon at 87 hours and 45 minutes, by clocking 100 hours in the kitchen.
The culinary expert said she has always loved to cook during a live appearance on Tuesday’s episode of Sunrise Daily on Channels Television.
“So, even when I was a TV host — and that’s not to say I’m not still very capable of doing those things, it’s just that I chose to dedicate myself more here because I needed to focus on this element of my life and the business aspect, to essentially construct a system.
“Even when I appeared on television, I hosted a food show and a cooking part on a morning program. I would say that cooking is what God wants me to do because it still pretty much stands out the best among the other facets of my career, she added.
The Akwa Ibom native recalled the beginning of her cooking company, MyFood by Hilda, and how it led her to believe she had discovered her vocation.
“The reception to my business was phenomenal the moment I launched it. The feedback has been incredible, which simply proves that this is what I’m intended to do and that I like doing it. Therefore, it doesn’t feel like work for the most part, according to Baci.
“Even when I was on television, I presented a cooking segment on a morning show and a food show. Because it still essentially stands out the best among the other aspects of my profession, I would say that cooking is what God wants me to do, she continued.
