Lagos Notifies Ikeja Traffic Diversion Along
According to the Lagos State Government, from Saturday, August 17, 2024, to Sunday, August 18, 2024, between 12 midnight and 4 am everyday, traffic will be diverted at Ikeja Along Bus Stop, between Ile Zik and Conoil Petrol Station on the Oshodi bound lane.
Oluwaseun Osiyemi, the Lagos State Commissioner for Transportation, stated in a statement on Thursday that the purpose of the diversion is to complete the dismantling of the existing pedestrian bridge.
“As a result, only one lane will be available to motorists to ensure safety from Ile Zik Bus Stop up to Conoil Petrol Filling Station on the Oshodi bound side of the road,” he stated.
Osiyemi went on to say that drivers on the side of the road that is headed toward Dopemu/Abule Egba will not be impacted by the traffic diversion while the demolition is underway.
The Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) will be present to control traffic flow and minimize disruptions, the commissioner continued.
He urged drivers to cooperate and mentioned that jersey barriers and safety netting will be used to block off the lanes to keep commuters and drivers safe while the work is being done.
