Four members of a robbery syndicate that has recently been terrorizing Sango ota and its surroundings have been detained by Ogun state police command agents.
The suspects, Sherrif Kamoru, Rabiu Seyidu, Opeyemi Adebayo, and Ajibola Fakolade, were apprehended as a result of a report made by one Adeleye Sunday to the Sango divisional headquarters on March 20, 2023, claiming that he was attacked by some armed hoodlums at around 5:30 am in the Joju area of Sango ota. He added that after cutting his neck with a knife, the thugs took his two phones away from him.
Following the theft of his phones, the thugs used the Bank’s app on his phone to withdraw $600,000 from his account. Following the report, CSP Saleh Dahiru of the DPO Sango Ota division assigned his detectives to locate the suspects and prosecute them.
The investigators sprang into action and, based on reliable information, discovered the suspects’ hiding place and captured four of them. They were found with a cutlass, the victim’s techno POP 2f, and a nasal mask that was worn by one of them throughout the operation.
The state police command’s spokesperson, SP Abimbola Oyeyemi, confirmed the incident and said that CP Olanrewaju Yomi Oladimeji, the state commissioner of police, had ordered that the suspects be sent to the State Criminal Investigation Department for a covert investigation and thorough prosecution.
