Pope Calls Lebanon’s Escalation “Unacceptable”
After hundreds of people were killed by Israeli bombs in the south of the country that targeted Hezbollah, Pope Francis on Wednesday denounced the “terrible escalation” of the crisis in Lebanon as “unacceptable.”
“I am disheartened by the information emanating from Lebanon. However, I’m hoping that every attempt will be made by the global community to halt this horrible escalation.
This is intolerable, and I would like to convey my sympathies to the Lebanese people, who have already endured far too much suffering recently,” Francis remarked.
