Dusan Vlahovic scored twice as Juventus secured their second straight win of the Serie A season with a 3-0 victory over Verona on Monday.

The result follows a 3-0 triumph over Como in their season opener, making Juventus the only team with a perfect record after two matches and placing them at the top of the early table.

Juventus, aiming for their first Scudetto since the 2019/20 season, are under new management with Thiago Motta taking over after Massimiliano Allegri’s dismissal following an outburst post their Italian Cup final win in May. Last season, Juventus finished third in Serie A, marking their best finish in four years.

Vlahovic put Juventus ahead just before the half-hour mark. Nicolo Savona, a 21-year-old defender making his full debut, extended Juve’s lead with a header from Samuel Mbangula’s cross before halftime. Mbangula, promoted from the youth ranks, has made an impressive start with a goal and two assists in his first two senior appearances.

Vlahovic sealed the victory with a penalty early in the second half.

Juventus will face a significant challenge in their next fixture when they host Roma on Sunday.
