Shootings leave 7 people dead and a suspect in arrest at two California farms.

On January 23, a “disgruntled worker” is accused of opening fire at two farms in the American city of Half Bay, killing seven comrades and injuring another.

Chunli Zhao, a 67-year-old suspect, later surrendered to law enforcement.

According to the San Francisco Chronicle, quoting San Mateo County Sheriff Christina Corpus, several of the victims in Monday’s massacre were shot dead in front of shocked children at the two scenes, which were miles apart on the outskirts of the small city along the Californian coast.

Zhao, a resident of Half Moon Bay, is thought to have acted alone and was “completely cooperative” with detectives after his arrest, according to Corpus.

According to sheriff’s department officials, three of the deceased were killed at one nursery while the other four were shot dead at another nursery. Around 2:30 pm on January 23, police were made aware of the rampage.
The connection between the two places is unclear, however the suspect worked for one of the firms, according to San Mateo County Board of Supervisors President Dave Pine. He referred to the suspect as a “disgruntled worker” as well.
Police reported that the victims were also employees of the institutions. According to Corpus, several of the employees even resided there with their families.
“ForIt is hard for youngsters to see this, Corpus stated. “This is a terrible tragedy for this neighborhood and the many families affected by this heinous act of violence,”
Zhao was discovered in the parking lot of a sheriff’s substation, according to San Mateo Sheriff Christina Corpus, and surrendered to deputies without any problems. She claimed that a semi-automatic rifle had been discovered in this car.
Just two days prior, a ballroom in Monterey Park outside of Los Angeles was the scene of another mass shooting in California that left 11 people dead, according to investigators. Huu Can Tran, 72, who carried out the mass shooting on Saturday, January 21, later committed suicide while being sought by authorities.
