Supporters of Buhari and Osinbajo apologize to Nigerians and abandon the APC

Buhari-Yemi Osinbajo Nationwide Supporters Group members have begged Nigerians for forgiveness for “blindly supporting” the All Progressives Congress and putting in place an administration that has caused such suffering.

The group’s members publicly declared their decision to leave the ruling party, join the Peoples Democratic Party in opposition, and support the Atiku-Okowa presidential ticket.

At a press conference held yesterday in Abuja, the National Coordinator of the Support Group, Hon. Danjuma Fachiwe Gwoza, and other group members made this decision public.

According to a directive from the PDP Presidential Campaign Council, the members of the President Muhammadu Buhari/Yemi Osinbajo Nationwide Supporters Group wish to formally decamp and transfer their operations to the Atiku/Okowa Nationwide Supporters Group (PCC).

“Our group is a powerful amalgamation of politically astute, like-minded people made up of various supporters’ organizations, like Artisan Youth Organizations. Our membership strength is currently 9,313,846 though.

We made a significant contribution to the votes INEC counted, which led to the election of Buhari and Osinbajo as winners in the 2015 and 2019 presidential elections, respectively. The members of this conglomerate sincerely apologize to Nigerians for our blind support of the bankrupt government led by the APC, which has fallen short of fulfilling its election-year promises to voters. This monumental failure has plunged the country into an intolerable mess.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank Distinguished Senator Abubakar Mahdi and Deputy Director General, Technology and System for the group’s purposeful and profound leadership privilege (PCC).

High Chief Raymond Dokpesi urged the group to work diligently to put an end to the administration in Nigeria led by the APC in his reprimanding statement.

In order to improve the electoral fortune of the Atiku/Okowa campaign mercenary, it continued: “Therefore, the group has embarked on a continuous train-the-trainers’ Voters’ Education Program.”

Our members are strategically positioned throughout Nigeria’s thirty-six states, including the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), seven hundred and seventy-four local government areas, and electoral wards.

“The aforementioned mercenary had received the necessary electioneering training to ensure that Atiku/Okowa would win the upcoming presidential election in 2023, as desired.

The mandate of the group also has 93,454,008 potential voters in Nigeria in mind.

Atiku Abubakar and Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa have received support from workers affiliated with the Nigeria Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE) for Saturday’s presidential election.

Ambali Olatunji, the national president of NULGE, made the announcement on behalf of the employees yesterday in Asaba at the conclusion of the Delta State Chapter’s 2023 NULGE Week.

According to a statement from Olatunji, who was represented by Vice President for the South, Owoanam Akpanwa, the workers were encouraged to support the Atiku-Okowa ticket because of their favorable attitude toward local government autonomy in the nation.

Additionally, they supported Chief Sheriff Oborevwori, Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly and PDP candidate for governor, stating that he possessed all the necessary qualifications to succeed Okowa in office.

He revealed that NULGE’s National Executive Council had decided that local government employees should only cast their votes for candidates who supported local government autonomy.

“Delta State is one of the few states in the nation that has supported local government autonomy, and we have instructed local government employees across the nation to only cast their votes for candidates who share our commitment to local government autonomy.

In light of their support for local government autonomy, he said, “It is on this note that I announce here that all local government employees have been directed to vote for the PDP presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, and his running mate, Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa, as well as the Speaker of the State House of Assembly who is the PDP’s gubernatorial candidate.”

Ezeko Okwudi, the state’s NULGE chairman, explained that NULGE Day is an annual celebration to evaluate the performance of the union.

He praised Okowa highly for helping local government employees, including resolving the issue of salary and promotion arrears with routine grants to local government councils.

The state’s NLC chairman, Goodluck Ofobruku, the TUC chairman, Martin Bolum, and his NUT counterpart, Titus Okotie, all expressed gratitude to the governor for his efforts on behalf of workers’ welfare in their goodwill messages and promised that the state’s workforce would support the upcoming presidential and National Assembly elections.

NULGE honored the governor with the Excellent Service Award for being the “Best Workers’ Friendly Governor in Nigeria” in recognition of all he did for the state’s local government employees.

He added that the revenue allocation formula would be changed to give more money to the states and local governments so they could offer more services to the people, and that the Atiku-Okowa ticket would devolve more authority and resources to the states and local governments.

Regarding pension arrears, Okowa claimed that his administration had already paid over N70 billion of the N78 billion owed to retirees for previous services and that it had also spent over N1 billion on other pension obligations.

In order to ensure our victory, he urged people to support them on Saturday by encouraging more of their friends and families to vote as well.

In a related development, the Chief Sheriff Oborevwori for governor campaign and the Atiku-Okowa presidential ticket have received support from the Concerned Nigerian Youths for Positive Change.

The group’s convener, Comrade Eric Odu, claimed that because of their comprehensive program and the vision set forth in Atiku’s policy document, “My Covenant With Nigerians,” they decided to support the Atiku-Okowa ticket of the PDP.
