Ten expectant mothers are rescued from a baby factory by Akwa Ibom police.

Ten expectant ladies were saved by the Akwa Ibom State Police Command from a baby factory run by Eunice Eze, a 56-year-old suspect.

On Tuesday, July 23, 2024, State Commissioner of Police CP Waheed Ayilara made this announcement during a briefing for reporters at the Police Headquarters in Ikot Akpanabia, Uyo.

Actionable intelligence led to the suspect’s arrest on July 15, 2024, according to Ayilara. The suspect operates a baby factory at the World Bank estate in Owerri.

According to the CP, the suspect uses her agent to take infants and expectant mothers from Akwa Ibom State.

“On 15/7/2024 at about 4:30pm, based on actionable intelligence, one Mrs Eunice Eze ‘f’ age 56yrs was arrested for running a baby factory at World Bank Estate in Owerri,” the CP stated.

“The suspect specializes in stealing babies and pregnant women from Akwa Ibom State through her agent, one Ability Henry Tom. Ten (10) pregnant women were rescued.”

Ayilara thanked the state government for their support, sister security agencies and good-spirited members of the public, whose credible and timely information led to the arrest.

He said the command looks forward to a more formidable collaboration from all as it strives to keep Akwa Ibom safer and more peaceful.
