The All Progressives Congress (APCBola )’s Tinubu won the hotly contested presidential race with 8,794,726 votes, placing the former vice president in second place with 6,984,520 votes.

The campaign team of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential nominee Atiku Abubakar was criticized by Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike on Thursday for their protest of the results of the election on February 25.

Bola Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress (APC) won the hotly contested presidential election with 8,794,726 votes, beating out Atiku’s 6,984,520 votes.

In addition to the PDP National Chairman, Iyorchia Ayu, and Atiku’s running partner, Ifeanyi Okowa, the former Vice President led a “black uniform” protest to the national headquarters of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Abuja on Monday.

Atiku criticized the election process after INEC announced Tinubu as the winner on Thursday, calling it a “rape of democracy” that the umpire was unable to upload the results to the INEC Results Viewing Portal (IReV).

While speaking at the opening of the Igwuruta internal roads in the Ikwerre Local Government Area (LGA) of Rivers State, Wike, however, made fun of the PDP leaders.

“I won three of the Senate seats – three over three. Ask them, did they win three over three? You cannot win!” the governor said.

“I told them; they said they would conspire against me. Those who said they’ll conspire against me are those wearing black. I am wearing white and they’re wearing black.”

Wike is a member of the G5, a group of five PDP governors who were upset with Atiku’s candidacy and chose not to support him because of what they believed to be a violation of the party’s bylaws.

The G5, a group of five disgruntled PDP governors, including Wike, and the party’s national leadership couldn’t be reconciled as the presidential race approached.

The governor, who was adamant that the presidency would return to the South, is widely credited with helping the APC achieve an unprecedented victory in Rivers.

However, he insists that he was fighting for national unity and denies engaging in any anti-party action.

He believes that “them at the national level in PDP” are responsible for the allegedly anti-party activities.

What could be “more anti-party,” wondered Wike, than for party members to disregard the clauses in their constitution that address the zoning of elective and appointive offices?

“Between us who say Nigeria must be one, Nigeria must be united, Nigeria must work for our people, [and] let everyone have hope, who committed anti-party [activities]? “[Between] you who refused to obey the provisions of the constitution of your party because of impunity, because you think you have the number, who refused to obey the provisions of the constitution of your party. He claimed that they were the ones who engaged in anti-party wrongdoing.

Wike assured PDP supporters regarding the election’s aftermath that the first phase of “the war” is now over and that the second phase is about to start.

“In the second stage of the conflict, we must exterminate the vampires and buccaneers. We’re going to remove them from the party, seize control of it, and rebuild it,” he declared.

They abandoned our party in 2014 or 2015. We came up short. They have returned once more, and our party has lost. Our party was destroyed by them.

“We’re going to eject them from the celebration. They don’t play any part in our party. I assured them that consent is consent.
