Yusuf and Ugbade are unemployed at NFF. — Gusau
The National Under-23 Team was unable to qualify for the U-23 AFCON, while the Golden Eaglets were eliminated in the quarterfinals of the just finished CAF U-17 competition. As a result, the Nigeria Football Federation, or NFF, has fired coaches Salisu Yusuf and Nduka Ugbade.
Due to the appalling results of their teams, Yusuf and Ugbade were fired.
NFF President Ibrahim Gusau publicly announced their dismissal. Their employment is dependent on the competition. Since their clubs didn’t qualify, the coaches currently have nothing to do, according to Gusau.
The U-23 squad did not advance to the U-23 African Cup of Nations, hence they will not participate in the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris’ football competition.
The Golden Eaglets of Ugbade also lost in the semifinals of the U-17 African Cup of Nations.
Nigeria, a five-time world champion, was denied a spot in the following round because of the last eight stage.
