2027: We’re waiting — SDP chairman gives details on meeting with INEC

The president of the Social Democratic Party, Sadiq Umar Abubakar, has disclosed details of the gathering held by the National Working Committee of the absorption enactment and the enactment of the Independent National Electoral Commission, led by its chairman, Joash Amupitan, on Monday.

Speaking with journalists aft the meeting, Abubakar said the gathering was fruitful, noting that the enactment is waiting for INEC’s decision.

He noted that the gathering came astatine the lawsuit of the enactment seeking an alternate solution to its crisis.

Abubakar reiterated that the SDP NWC, led by him, was duly elected and ratified by the party’s caller Bauchi Convention.

According to him, the party’s erstwhile chairman, Shehu Musa Gabam, has been legally suspended from the enactment since March 9th, 2026.

He faulted the judgement that relied upon INEC to database Gabam arsenic the absorption party’s chairman.
