Kwankwaso accuses Ganduje of taking government property for himself and his family.
Former Kano State governor Rabiu Kwankwaso has charged Abdullahi Ganduje of taking public property for himself and his family.
After a meeting with President Bola Tinubu at the State House on Friday, he made the charge while speaking to State House reporters.
The pair, who were formerly political partners but are now at odds, paid separate visits to the Nigerian president on Friday.
After his meeting with the President, Ganduje was the first to leave and attacked Kwankwaso over the destruction of property by the administration of Governor Abba Yusuf. He claimed he would have slapped Kwankwaso if they had crossed paths at the Presidential Villa.
The former governor alleged that the government destroyed four properties built using a public-private partnership framework less than 72 hours after Governor Yusuf took office.
Kwankwaso, in response to his successor’s assertions following their meeting with the President, asserted that no government will view what Ganduje did in Kano while in office differently.
However, the NNPP leader disclosed that during his talk with the President, topics related to a ministerial position for him in Tinubu’s cabinet came up.
However, he reaffirmed that he would not join the All Progressives Congress (APC), while acknowledging that he was willing to work with the President to advance the country.
He claimed that Tinubu was only considering a government of national unity.
