Nigeria Will Become Africa’s Leading Mining Nation Under FG – Shettima
According to Vice President Kashim Shettima, the administration of President Bola Tinubu is committed to making Nigeria the mining leader in Africa.
At the African Natural Resources And Energy Investment Summit in Abuja on Wednesday, Shettima made the announcement.
The goal of the summit, which is being attended by mining ministers from all around Africa, is to stimulate investment in the ecosystem that supports natural resources. It also aims to stimulate economic growth by turning Africa’s natural riches into sources of income in the non-oil sector.
This is in light of the fact that the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSDC) recently graduated 393 special marshals from its training program, which is part of the government’s attempts to stop illicit mining in the nation.
The NSCDC vowed to train and send out a batch of marshals to guard the nation’s mining sites, and the 393 recent graduates of the program make up the second group.
The first group of marshals was sworn in by the interior minister in March of this year. There were fifty specially trained officers in the first cohort.
