Sen. Ademola Adeleke, the governor of Osun State, claimed that he extended a hand of friendship to Adegboyega Oyetola and asked him to collaborate with him to advance Osun, but it appears that he declined.

When asked about the revelation, former governor Oyetola said, “I tried to reach out and I called him – former Governor Oyetola – to let us forge ahead to move Osun forward, but till now, he hasn’t called me to congratulate me and I’m still hoping that he will do that because we don’t have any other state than Osun State here. Hence, let’s work together to advance Osun State. I’m prepared, and my hands are open.

On Friday, the Court of Appeal in Abuja upheld Adeleke’s election as the state’s governor. Adeleke is a member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Oyetola, however, claimed that there is good justification for seeking additional relief at the top court in a statement by his media assistant, Ismail Omipidan.

When asked if he was nervous, Adeleke responded, “Nah, not really. They have the right to appeal to the Supreme Court if they so choose. I am therefore supported by my own people. Also, God is on my side. They have the right to proceed to the Supreme Court if they choose to do so.
