Adeleke’s response to the appeals court decision is, “God Has Vindicated Me.”
Ademola Adeleke, the governor of Osun State, praised God for vindicating him in the Court of Appeal’s decision upholding his election.
Adeleke’s response comes after the appeal court in Abuja on Friday invalidated the Osun State Governorship Tribunal’s ruling and affirmed Senator Ademola Adeleke’s election as the state’s governor.
In a live interview on Channels Television’s Politics Today, the governor remarked, “I just have to thank God because I believe that God has vindicated me by the July 16 election that my people in Osun State voted for me massively.”
In addition to saying that the appeals court had “cleared everything” and recognized him as the legitimate governor of Osun State, he called the tribunal’s ruling a miscarriage of justice.
“I must express my gratitude to the Osun people for their overwhelming support. I thank God and the Osun people for this win, Adeleke remarked.
When asked about the likelihood that his rival, former governor Gboyega Oyetola, would file an appeal with the Supreme Court, Adeleke advised the ex-governor to “move forward.”
Democracy is at work here, he declared. So be it if they decide to appeal to the Supreme Court. But I think we should just keep going and make sure the Osun people get stronger and stronger.
We will meet at the Supreme Court if they decide to appeal their case, nevertheless.
