Akpabio swears in four senators elected in by-elections

President of the Senate, Godswill Akpabio, on Wednesday administered the oath of bureau to 4 recently elected senators pursuing their victories successful the caller by-elections conducted by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC.

The lawmakers inaugurated during plenary were Olaka Nwogu, Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Rivers South-East; Envulu Anz, All Progressives Congress, Nasarawa North; Ikeje Asogwu, APC, Enugu North; and Dayo Faduyile, APC, Ondo South.

The by-elections were held past Saturday to capable vacancies created by deaths and appointments successful the affected senatorial districts.

Nwogu is filling the Rivers South-East spot which became vacant aft the decease of the erstwhile senator, Barinada Mpigi, portion Anza succeeded precocious Godiya Akwashiki successful Nasarawa North.

Asogwa replaced the precocious Okechukwu Ezea successful Enugu North. Faduyile filled the vacancy near by erstwhile legislator Jimoh Ibrahim aft his assignment arsenic Nigeria’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations.
