Alleged N109b fraud: Court adjourns ex-AGF Idris case till October

Justice Yusuf Halilu of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) High Court, Maitama, Abuja, connected Wednesday adjourned proceedings successful the trial-within-trial involving a erstwhile Accountant-General of the Federation, Ahmed Idris, until October 13, 2026, for the adoption of last written addresses.

Idris is being prosecuted by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), alongside Geoffrey Olusegun Akindele, Mohammed Kudu Usman and Gezawa Commodity Market and Exchange Limited, connected a 14-count complaint bordering connected the alleged stealing and fraudulent diversion of nationalist funds amounting to N109.5 billion.

The tribunal had ordered a trial-within-trial connected November 22, 2022, pursuing an exertion by counsel to the archetypal defendant, Chief Chris Uche (SAN), who challenged the admissibility of statements made by his lawsuit to the EFCC, alleging that they were obtained done deception and inducement.
