Alleged national security breach: El-Rufai pleads not guilty

The Department of State Services, DSS, has yet arraigned erstwhile Governor of Kaduna State, Nasir El-Rufai, connected a five-count amended complaint bordering connected alleged breach of nationalist security.

El-Rufai, who was arraigned earlier Justice Joyce Abdulmalik of the Federal Highway Court successful Abuja, nevertheless pleaded not blameworthy to each the counts.

When the lawsuit was called, counsel to the DSS, Oluwole Aladedoye, SAN, informed the tribunal that the substance was fixed for the suspect to instrumentality his plea.

Aladedoye, however, told the tribunal that a further amended five-count complaint was filed connected April 13, 2026.

The lawyer prayed the tribunal to substitute it with the earlier three-count charge.

Responding, counsel to El-Rufai, Oluwole Iyamu, SAN, said helium had been served with the amended complaint and that helium was not opposing.

The justice past struck retired the earlier three-count charge.

After the counts were work to the erstwhile governor, helium pleaded not blameworthy and Aladedoye sought 3 consecutive dates for proceedings of the accused person.

Iyamu, however, objected to the exertion for 3 consecutive days for the trial.
