Borno High Court jails woman over trafficking

A quality trafficker, Salamatu Saidu, has been sentenced by a High Court successful Maiduguri, Borno State for the fraudulent trafficking of 2 persons to 5 years’ imprisonment.

ln a lawsuit update shared connected its Facebook leafage connected Thursday, the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking successful Persons made the disclosure, saying that Saidu was convicted and sentenced by Justice Bukar Umar connected Monday, the aforesaid time she was arraigned.

The offences committed by the convict, according to the agency, contravened Section 26(2) of the Trafficking successful Persons (Prohibition) Enforcement and Administration Act, 2015.

Justice Bukar M. Umar convicted Salamatu Saidu (33, female) for fraudulent introduction of persons aged 21 and 33 years.

It stated that the offence is contrary to Section 26(2) of the Trafficking successful Persons (Prohibition) Enforcement and Administration Act, 2015.
