BREAKING: Emefiele refutes reports that a plan was launched against Tinubu.

The news that the President-elect, Mr. Bola Ahmed Tinubu, was the target of a new conspiracy has been refuted by the Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Mr. Godwin Emefiele.

Such a news report, which appeared in today’s issue of The Nation, was cited by him as being phony.

The Governor made this announcement today in a statement that was signed by Mr. Isa Abdulmumin, Acting Director of Corporate Communications at CBN.

The aforementioned report went on to claim that the Governor had provided a candidate with a certain sum of money before to the March 18, 2023, gubernatorial election.

“We want to let the world know that this narrative is entirely untrue and harmful because the CBN Governor doesn’t know Mr. Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour, has never spoken to him directly or indirectly, and has never even met him.

“We want to emphasize that the CBN Governor does not participate in politics, and we encourage anyone with information to the contrary to disprove the Governor by offering any facts.

In order to fulfill the Bank’s statutory mandate, the Governor and his team at the CBN should be able to concentrate on their respective tasks.
