A group, the Christian Ministries Welfare Initiative (CMWI) and other affiliates, have decided to support the All Progressives Congress (APC) flag bearer, Bola Tinubu, to succeed President Muhammadu Buhari in the election of next year, despite the criticisms that have followed the emergence of the same faith ticket by the APC.

The organization declared: “It was about time Christians changed their focus away from the same-faith ticket.” The group was led by Superintendent Apostle Aderemi Adebiyi.

If that was allowed to continue, he claimed, it might harm humanity.

Adebiyi officially announced their support for the Tinubu/Shettima ticket during the press conference.

Adebiyi, who recalled and acknowledged that the ticket was viewed negatively by the Christian community, claimed that following deliberations, the religious organization made a choice based on faith.

He urged Christians to pray for God’s guidance in the next elections.

Pastor Ayorinde Adedayo, the group’s chief of staff, echoed this attitude, saying that the group’s support for Tinubu confirmed their dedication to practicing a non-sentimental religion.

We don’t have to continue selecting our next President on the basis of this. Muslims are people like the rest of us. We are addressing the same God, he declared.
