Church Service Is Conducted By Plateau Demonstrators On Protest Ground

Published

Sunday worship was held by Plateau State protesters at the Old Airport roundabout in Jos, where they have been assembling since the protest’s fourth day of inception.

The worship session, which was attended by both Muslims and Christians, was a reenactment of the jumat prayers that the Muslim faithful offered at the same location last Friday.

On Day 4 of the protest, the demonstrators temporarily transformed the location into a temple with praises and worship hymns, outnumbering the prior meetings in size.

The demonstrators are not pleased with President Bola Tinubu’s Sunday morning broadcast because they feel it ignored the concerns voiced by the agitators.

Security officers under the direction of the Plateau State Commissioner of Police were tasked with keeping an eye on the protesters’ actions. They have remained peaceful for the past four days, but they may continue given what they perceived as the President’s inadequate response.

Following the president’s speech, which has been deemed inadequate and unacceptable, coalition leaders in Plateau State are gathering to decide what to do next.
